A New Leaf in A Lost Chapter for Sonia O’Sullivan
As we near completion on the final edit for How To Win, we’ve been closely following the unfolding revelations around “Ma’s Army” from the 1990’s with interest. Sonia O’Sullivan has written an insightful piece in The Irish Times giving her unique take on this very personal story:
“After 23 years I can wait for the full admission and confirmation. I don’t want a package with two gold medals. That wouldn’t change a thing. I just want to know that in 1993 I did everything I could to be the best I could be, to be the best in the world.”
Her enduring love for her sport is infectious both in person and on screen, so we’re really excited to have her as a contributor to the programme. She remains a hugely positive force for Irish sport, and her reasoned response to this scandal is testament to her strength of character and humility.
Here’s a short feature we put together from Sonia’s interview with us on the day after she took part in the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2015 where her passion and drive shine through.
How To Win is an Athena Media production for Setanta Sports made with the support of the BAI and the TV licence fee.
